I wonder if it would be possible to include weather in the navigation calculation or as a real time overlay. This may help avoid weather unsuitable for your vehicle, fuel level/availability or supplies.
I know I mentioned it before on someone's else's idea. However it would be great to get rid of the white roads and fonts especially at night. It is very tiring for your eyes. I would suggest green or red. Green is by far my preference. Less eye strain.
There is just to much white used at the moment.
All jet huds use green for this very reason.
Of course it could be user chosen to suit them.
I would be quite willing to try out a one of build with the changes and report back.
Allow to define a threshold for speed limit alert or, better, two: one for in town and another one for out of town driving and do not trigger the alert until the current speed limit + threshold has been passed. A small threshold (e.g. 5-10 Km/h or similar for Mph) would avoid too frequent alerts when traveling near the maximum speed allowed. The system could also signal you're in the threshold zone changing the color of current speed to yellow and turn red if you pass the threshold.
Please let me hide the unused dashboard menu. For example, I do not use the compass menu. Also, the remaining oil level menu is obsolete because it can not be read from OBD. If you can hide unused menus, it will be much faster to scroll through the menus you use.
I'd like to see the little red "dial not connected" icon removed from the UI completely. It bugs me to see it (I must clear all errors!), which causes me to click or spin the dial before I actually need to use it, which causes the menu to show up, or the dash gauge to change, or something else I didn't want to do.
Since I've started thinking about that indicator, I'm struggling to come up with what it's really telling me. If the dial is working as expected, then telling me I haven't connected yet is pointless, since the dial reacts to the first push/spin anyway, so the knowledge that it wasn't previously connected doesn't change my action. If the dial isn't working properly, all the indication I need is that nothing happens when I press or spin the dial. In both the working and non-working case, I still going to press/spin whether or not the red indicator is showing. Am I missing something?
Is there a way to use Google Maps instead of HERE on Navdy? Or, at least improve the traffic info that we receive in Navdy?
The live traffic information that HERE provides is less than ideal during peak hour traffic. It suggests extremely congested routes on a daily basis, as it thinks there is little traffic on those roads.
For my daily commute, HERE gives me an ETA of 20 mins to complete a 15km trip, but it usually takes about 50-60 minutes. HERE suggests 3 routes, and I've tried all 3 routes multiple times - they are all terrible. Two of Google's suggested routes are similar to HERE, but it provides a third route that offers a better driving experience.
The traffic information that i can see from HERE and Google Maps is very different - Google is a lot more accurate.
That could be due to the fact that everyone here uses either Waze, or Google - hardly anyone uses HERE.
The plus point of Navdy is that it provides turn by turn navigation based on live traffic information, but if the live traffic information is inaccurate, it doesn't help much.
I hope third party app mirroring is supported. I would like the third party app to show the middle speedometer area in the currently visible dash mode. Of course, I would like to be able to select the speed mode so that it can be seen. So, you can see the applications that are supported only in some countries through mirroring, so that countries that do not support Google Maps or here map are also available for that country's map application. I also hope to see more apps.
