Is there a way to use Google Maps instead of HERE on Navdy? Or, at least improve the traffic info that we receive in Navdy?
The live traffic information that HERE provides is less than ideal during peak hour traffic. It suggests extremely congested routes on a daily basis, as it thinks there is little traffic on those roads.
For my daily commute, HERE gives me an ETA of 20 mins to complete a 15km trip, but it usually takes about 50-60 minutes. HERE suggests 3 routes, and I've tried all 3 routes multiple times - they are all terrible. Two of Google's suggested routes are similar to HERE, but it provides a third route that offers a better driving experience.
The traffic information that i can see from HERE and Google Maps is very different - Google is a lot more accurate.
That could be due to the fact that everyone here uses either Waze, or Google - hardly anyone uses HERE.
The plus point of Navdy is that it provides turn by turn navigation based on live traffic information, but if the live traffic information is inaccurate, it doesn't help much.
I hope third party app mirroring is supported. I would like the third party app to show the middle speedometer area in the currently visible dash mode. Of course, I would like to be able to select the speed mode so that it can be seen. So, you can see the applications that are supported only in some countries through mirroring, so that countries that do not support Google Maps or here map are also available for that country's map application. I also hope to see more apps.
the dial should have one major improvement - a "cancel" (or "back") button. a simple implementation will be to split the clickable button into two, or, to use the bottom part (battery cover) as another button. adding such functionality will enhance dramatically the usage of the existing interface (being able to move back instead of scrolling to a 'back' menu), and will allow support for other interfaces in the future such as CarPlay etc. (see the CarPlay support idea...)
the KmL (on the Navdy) is mainly used in US/UK where gallons is mainly used (MPG). In Europe, where liters are used, L/100km is favoured as my VW dashboard display. When making the conversion using a calculator, I find that the data do not match. If the source of data is taken directly from the vehicle obd source then we may have a conversion issue. Can this be clarified and an option added to either use KmL or L/100km ( for metric). Thanks
I get a lot of messages, especially in Slack, that contain URLs and it is painful to hear Navdy read them letter by letter. Have some logic that detects a URL by maybe "http://" or "https://" and just say "URL Here"
First off, loving the Glympse functionality! I am finding, however, that I often want to send Glympses to people who are not on my favorites list or recent contacts, or use a platform other than SMS/phone number to contact these people (major case being Facebook messaging or group messages). Would love to see support for this!
I use a few messaging apps that don't show notifications properly. It may show the sender or the chat name but not the content. (Allo is an example.)
I have a Pebble watch and it seems to support showing the actual message in all apps just fine. I believe is uses the notifications from Android vs needing a direct integration to the app. Is Navdy able to work this way too so you don't have to keep updating for every app?
